delays once again

I have to apologize again for being so far behind on my blog. If you noticed that all my posts disappear from the front page, it's just because it's really been that long since I wrote something.

Will catch up on postings as soon as I get a chance. Really. In short, my trip to Europe went very well. I returned to Moscow to find it full of fuzz in the air from the cottonwood trees. Even torential rains, such as today's, haven't gotten rid of it all. My apartmentmate demonstrated how the fuzz is actually highly flamible by lighting some of it on fire in the kitchen sink. Pretty cool.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy (belated) Russia Day, formerly Independence Day, which was June 12. It's quite a new holiday, commemorating the date that Russia withdrew from the Soviet Union. But calling it "independence" always seemed like a misnomer, so now we just call it "Russia Day" and continue doing what we did before: enjoy time off from work and classes.
