DJ Kevin takes your requests
A blog reader has requested an entry on local cuisine and street food in St. Petersburg. I'll see what I can do after visiting St. Petersburg (March 15-20), where I hope to refresh my memory from five years ago.
But that gives me the idea that if you have any specific topic or photography requests, please post a comment (or email me) and I'll see if I can fulfill them. I will not photograph military installations or anyone in uniform, but otherwise I'm willing to overcome my paranoia.

Kev, buddy, if you can muster a picture while in Moscow, I'd love to see what the McDonald's looks like. I'd be curious if Generica (as my friends call the McDonaldization of America) has taken a firm hold in the former USSR.
Also, do they have any Chili's, Fricker's, or Chachki's there? And if so, are they forced to wear 15 pieces of flare?
(If you don't get the joke behind the above-mentioned restaurants and flare, please rent the movie *Office Space*.)

Jou, I'm going to have to go with "flair" for the spelling.
Hopefully tomorrow I can snag a shot of the world's busiest McDonald's (maybe it isn't the world's busiest any more) and T. Dzhi. I. Fraidei's, both also on Pushkin Square.

Didn't make it to take those photos yesterday, but will keep it on my list for the future.
